Speaking of curves, SpeedGrade does not have curves correct? I've tried using it, found it infuriating and lacking many features. Its a promising application but I can't help but feel like Adobe just added their name to it and packaged it with cs6. once it gets fully integrated in with the rest of creative suite and gets a much needed UI overhaul i'll stop dissing it.
And have you tried using the Color Finesse plug-in inside After Effects?
Not there are no curves but the layer system for someone used to photoshop is great. I use the numeric inputs or sliders to increase the values. I have not used Resolve extensively and Lite wont run on my 13" MBP so speedgrade is my only option until I receive my iMac (3-4 weeks time). Speedgrade is not easy to pick up and use, it takes some getting used to but it has all the features I need Tracking, Pan & Scan, Primary, Secondaries and LUT's.
I think Adobe has done a good job as it an early build and can only get better. They really need to improve the Dynamic Link as it would make workflows a lot easier. I hate After Effects and avoid using it as much as possible.
Am I right in thinking the Lite version of Resolve will only allow the use of 1-2 Nodes ? Most of my grades in Speedgrade comprise of 4-6 Layers, so if this is so the Lite version would not work for me. I do plan on buying the BMC Camera and using the full version of Resolve on the future.
