I can't seem to connect to my JLCooper Eclipse CX control panel after updating to 12.5.5 from 12.5.4. Any users with a JLCooper Eclipse CX or Midnight CX that may have come across a similar issue once they updated Resolve from 12.5.4 to 12.5.5?
I'm on a windows 10 pro workstation using Resolve Studio with the windows firewall on. I added exceptions as well as disabled windows firewall altogether to see if I can connect to it. But no luck. I can still connect to it from another PC with the free version of Resolve 12.5.4. So I don't believe it's a problem with the panel itself, rather the update seems to have done something. Checked preference settings under Resolve with correct IP address and everything yet no connection.
If anyone knows how to resolve the issue please do let me know? Otherwise I guess I have to downgrade to 12.5.4.
We tested this config this week as I had heard of a similar report but it worked for us on Windows and Linux. Makes sure your w10 security blocks are off.
Try calling JL Cooper too, they may have repo the issue.
If you haven't already, disconnect from the Internet, and turn the Firewall OFF, and see if that has any effect.
Also, open Windows Task Manager. Select Details. Sort by Name.
Launch Resolve and watch for a JLCooperPanelDaemon.exe process.
If Resolve does not detect the JLCooper panel within 30 seconds, this process will quit, and then it for sure won't connect to the panel, until you restart Resolve, when you'll get another 30 second attempt to connect to the panel.
I mention this just so you aware you can't connect or mess with the panel settings once Resolve is launched. Get everything setup and connected first, then launch Resolve.
If you never see the JLCooperPanelDaemon.exe process start, that could also be helpful info.
I installed the following versions of the Lite/non-studio on a laptop to check
11.3.1 WORKS 12.5.4 WORKS 12.5.5 DOES NOT WORK 12.5.6 DOES NOT WORK 14.0 DOES NOT WORK
So something happened between 12.5.4 and 12.5.5 and beyond.
I'm glad it's not the panel itself, but rather a software issue. But it sure is frustrating I can't use v14 of Resolve and I hope you are able to track down the problem and fix it for the next update of 14!
Well, we have the same issues. Two pc's, one with windows 7, one with windows 10. Both not connecting to the Eclipse panel. On mac, everything works perfectly. Also in version 14. From 12.5.5, got screwed up.
Contacted JLcooper, and they told me that everything should work fine..
I know this is an old post, but I had to buy the BlackMagic Mini Panel once the issue happened as there was no resolution to this for many months. Seems like Ola also purchased a Mini Panel. Wonder if this was done on purpose by BM....???
