[SOLVED] Saving a Title as a Template or Custom Effect?

PostSun Nov 01, 2015 7:53 pm

It would be a giant time saver - and very useful - to be able to create your own set of titles available for use across several short projects. Is there any way to do this? Again, I do not see this in the DR12 manual related to creating your own subset of title effects, so asking here.

I typically create titles with the same look and position for multiple short projects. These involve similar fonts, outlines, background colors, transitions etc. My question is, can all this effort on each title be saved so that new projects will have the same look but (of course) changed wording?

I have saved segments containing titles for other projects, but then you cant change the actual wording if you try to import this as media.

Thanks for ANY comments or solutions.

Right click any title and create "Compound Clip". You can then copy this compound clip into any other project. However, to edit the text, you'll have to right click it on the time-line and select "decompose in place".

THANK you - that is very helpful! How on Earth did you know that - NOT in the manual that I can find? You are a genius.

This sounds fine - but: Where can I save this Compound Clip to use it in other projects? I can't put it into a Power Bin what would be the best. But this is not possible.

Hi,
I find the idea of John Paines very good. But also a legitimate question from Tom Knight. And the answer is still pending. That's why I repeat here and today the question: "Where and how do I saving my title tamplates (collection)?"
So far, I have helped myself with a title project. There is my large selection of "own title templates".
