how to disable open last project on launch

PostTue Apr 10, 2018 3:38 pm

I had created a basic project with 15 beta and I had also enabled the pref for automatically opening the last project on launch. Upon relaunching though it seems to be hanging (app not responding) as it opens into that project (so I'm not able to do anything with the beta at the moment) - is there a pref I can trash to prevent it from opening the last project (or a modifier key while launching) etc. ? thanks for any suggestions.

It's in the User settings, under UI Settings.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Thanks, I actually knew that much but in my case since Resolve was automatically opening the project and hanging I couldn't get to the user settings through the normal Resolve UI way, but I eventually found which file to trash/hide before launch to prevent it from automatically opening the project.

To disable autoload of last project, you can change the parameter <AutoReloadPrevProj> from "true" to "false" in the file (currently line 20)

PC: "C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Preferences\config.user.xml".

MAC: "/Library/Preferences/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/config.user.xml"

That's good to know - thanks.

You've aroused my curiosity kingluma:
What type file did you need to delete, and what type of Resolve folder did it reside in? Was it the latest .drp file your computer produced?
Thanks in advance.

it was the file Trevor suggested in his reply on this thread
MAC: "/Library/Preferences/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/config.user.xml"

but I just hid it and let the software make a new one since I didn't know (and didn't then want to spend the time figuring out) where in the XML file to change the setting (using a text editor)
