Product suggestion

PostWed Mar 27, 2013 10:52 am

I had an idea for the BMCC. I wrote to Metabones and asked if they could make a Speed booster EF mount to EF lens for the BMCC. I imagine it capable of making your lens FOV equivalent to an APS-C sensor size.

Maybe if they get enough request.

What do you guys think?

In the same frame of mind, I am wondering if a M43 lens adapter to canon EF mount exist. I would like to put hyper primes or other M43 lens on my EF BMCC.

Have a good one,

I doubt that (talking about the speedbooster, not the M43 to EF adapter)

It's impossible. The flange of the camera's lens mount needs to be shorter than the flange of the lens.

So matching length flanges won't work.

The only caveat being that if a metabones style converter had it's lens sit inside the long empty 'neck' of the BMCC's EF mount it might be possible.

Even that would have been impossible.

Speed Booster shortens the flange distance, so unless you saw away a few mm's off the empty neck, it is not going to work even if you gut the Speed Booster optics and somehow fit it inside the empty neck. (The Speed Booster is much shorter in length than a regular adapter.)

I know waiting is torturous but there is nothing else we can do other than with the MFT version of BMCC.
