Hello all,
I have this rather strange problem and I've spent considerable time searching for a solution but couldn't find it. Actually, there are two problems, but one leads to the other.
I have a graded short film whose timeline was imported via xml (PPro) and graded in Resolve. Now there are some shots that need some VFX post work. I am exporting the clips in question as 16 bit TIFs, do the work in AE and re-import them.
The image (BMD RAWs) have the resolution 4608x2592, so does the timeline. I then export the clips that I need to work on. This works fine, but there is a problem:
- There is a blanking on the timeline (the final film will be 2.39) that I just can't get rid of. The output sizing in the Color panel seem untouched. In the timeline menu the blanking menu options are all "unchecked".
If I export a flat pass with the option "Disable edit and input sizing", the output image will have the correct dimensions, but the blanking is still there. I've searched all the options but I just can't see where this was turned on, or how I can get rid of the blanking (for the post)
- So I created a new timeline, copied the clip there (no blanking was visible) and now the clip exports correctly... BUT, when I re-import the same clip and put it on the original timeline it seems slightly brighter. When I export the clip from the cropped timeline and immediately reimport it the pictures are identical. So depending on the timeline the TIFs are brighter or darker - despite the flat pass. I don't see where I can change brightness settings for individual timelines.
Thanks for any help
