Improvement to the JKL behaivour

Hi, I've got a small feature request, if it's not too hard to implement, of course.
So when you press LL or JJ and then press the opposite for L or J DaVinci would just go the opposite direction at the same double speed, but would be more helpful if it could slow down one position by pressing single time, then meeting zero speed and then only go backwords if you pressed two times the opposite direction.

Sorry, but I would be very opposed to this. It would mean you are constantly having to keep track of what speed you are playing at. Am I at 3x speed? Alright, I need to hit the back key 1 time to play double speed.

Just my opinion, but I like that I know exactly what behavior I am getting when I press the key.

This would be a pain if you ask me, good for programming 3rd-party shuttle controls but that's it. So it would have to be optional if anything.

You'll know. I assure you (from years of experience with such a logical arrangement with J/L multi-tap speed variation, you'll easily know your speed is > or < "1x" by the unnatural audio. What's more it is likely we'd want also, a small pop-up speed indication tag near the cursor when J or L is multi-tapped for a speed change from 1x.

I therefore support the idea, and suggest also that this proposed variable speed behavior tied to J and L keys be made the default, yet with a disable option in Project Settings, as is the case with some other NLEs.

It's an exceedingly useful, time-saving feature, indeed.

If I'm hitting the J key, it's because I want to go back, not slow down my forward speed.

Here, when I want to go ahead in slow motion I press K + L and when I want to go back in slow motion I press K + J

To be pressing J and not have the playhead *immediately* go into reverse is anything but logical.

Like I said, I support the option as it would be great for 3rd party shuttle controls (Avid works perfectly with my own because it includes this feature as an option), but it shouldn't be the default behaviour.

In NLEs in which tapping "L" a few times for fast-play behavior -- [and alternatively tapping "J" a few times provides fast-reverse timeline play23.976fpsback...];

Then pressing the opposing directional key (e.g. "J" ) just once, logically slows the fast behavior indeed.

A user, while already operating in, say 10x Forward play mode via several taps on the "L" key, *absolutely *needs a way to slow that operation down, as he approaches his intended destination -- and such is the case in the alternate direction, with respect to 10x speed play in Reverse: Hitting "L" and then "J" once or more, at will, is a most intelligent arrangement for my preferences, as well as otherrs, accustomed to that arrangement.

BMD, please, at least, give us flexibility in assigning to the JKL keys, our preferred flavor of variable speed playback behavior.
