15.b2 = WELL DONE!

PostThu May 03, 2018 2:02 pm

so an assist conformed a feature in 14.3 yesterday, made an archive on the server, but had quite a few shots that were missing from the XML, shots that were just a hole in the timeline - shots that speed ramped in reverse so i'm not really surprised there, it was going to be sorted today with the editors help

i opened the XML in 15.b2, sent the xml to find the media in the archive, it came up with a bunch of missing media, i hooked up the client's drive and the speed ramps all appeared nearly perfectly correct.. with linear ramps, the editor used curves, but other than that, the reverese speed ramps all came in frame accurate

that saves hours of assist time, or in worst case gradeing suite time, super awesome useful, helpful, cost effective kind of upgrade that we will take for granted in six months, and then the folks who have been doing this for a while will be saying "i remember back when conforming ramps + reverse was a train wreck"
