How to fake a shared drive for collaboration

PostSun May 06, 2018 11:52 am

Hi there,

Our studio purchased resolve studio so we can use the collaboration feature. We have 2 computers. one has the footage on the hard drive, the other has the footage on a external HD.

How do I simply map it so we can collaborate and not need to constantly relink footage? I've tried the mappings feature, it's not working. Can someone please explain in plain English how this works??

Lets say I'm on computer A which has the footage on the external. When I go into media storage and click 'add' - surely I add the external drive and then manually add the other mappings beside it. Once you have done that, do you need to do anything else for resolve to apply those changes? Nothing seems to update.

Or is there an easier way? Obviously the caching thing is a problem too.

HELP! first time setting this up. We are tiny and we have no SANS shared drive.
