Purple Dots on Sony F5 footage.

PostMon May 07, 2018 12:40 am

Hello,

We had some drone footage shot recently with a Sony f55. All looked good from a far but after looking closely there were little purple or magenta dots all over the footage on the highlights. I thought that maybe the black sun correction might work but it did not.

This is 4k, f55 Raw SQ, 25 frames per second, Log.

I'm new to Davinci Resolve so please excuse me if this is a basic fix.

The attached images is zoomed in at around 130% and has basic contrast and saturation added.

Looking forward to hearing back soon.

Play the footage outside Resolve in something like Sony Catalyst and see if the dots are still there. The real question is whether this is actually embedded in the material or if it's a decoding problem within Resolve.
