Enhancement Request: Dust Buster

PostMon May 07, 2018 9:02 pm

Having the dust buster is a step in the right direction but as it is implemented now it is not very useful.

What would make this work is to allow mouse or pen strokes of a pre-set adjustable width (or better take pen pressure information).

It would be similar to how you make pressure sensitive strokes when your draw in Photoshop with the pen on a graphic tablet.

This way you could literally draw dirt and dust away.

Restoring frames is all about speed and efficiency, it won't be practical if you only can drag rectangles around areas.

Maybe I'm not understanding the feature you're requesting, but the Multistroke paint tools in Fusion do what it sounds like you're asking for. Or, at least that's how I use them for dust busting / single frame retouching.

Thanks for mentioning that, I was referring to the OFX in the Color page but I suppose I could use the built-in Fusion for that now.

Hello
Another big problem on the dustbuster is, that the effect is not linked to the clip directly. If you resize or move a clip (on edit or color page, except output scaling) then you have to redo everything, since the patches are not resized/moved accordingly. Please link the masks to the clip, so that they will be moved and scaled with the clip, since the dirt is also "linked" to the clip.

Oh, gotcha. Yeah once 15 is at a stable release it's going to make those kinds of quick touchups a lot more flexible than the existing DR tools.
