Hi there!
I did some Internet searching, and most of what I found were suggestions to download trial software like "Borosoft" conversion software. I think there were some other programs too. But I am always suspicious of "trial" software, freeware, etc. (cyber security/virus/spam/etc)
Your advice, opinions and help are greatly appreciated!!
On the video editing PC: We can watch the video files with audio just fine, on the computer simply using VLC media player.
When I import to Resolve, Resolve picks up the audio just fine, but for the video, there is a blank placeholder on the timeline, but no video.
We did a test with some sample footage, and converted the RAW file to MPEG-4, and we were able to Import and Edit in Resolve; but the concern is that MPEG-4 might not be the best choice, since the original footage was recorded RAW/V-Log; we don't want to lose information during conversion.
This will be the first time editing V-Log footage as well as the first time using Resolve, so please consider us in the "Novice" category as we typically use a different camera and use Premiere Pro.
We've been waiting for a good reason to use V-Log on the GH-5, as well as a reason to get away from Premiere Pro whenever possible.
So this video project came up, and we feel it would benefit from what we can get from the camera using V-Log, and want to learn more about Resolve LUT/grading features!
Thanks so much for your help!

So, I'd like to ask: What is the best Way to Convert Panasonic GH-5 V-Log Raw footage to edit in DaVinci Resolve? From what we've seen, we think the general idea is to convert to "AVID DNxHD" or perhaps ProRes... ?
