impossible to import short sound in the timeline

Hi everyone,
I begin a sound editing of a short movie. No problem so far.
Till today! I try to place in the timeline a short sound of a telephone.
The sound appears in the bin. I can listen in the preview but for some reason I can place it ion the timeline?!?
The sound does less then 1 sec. I edited on Audacity few seconds of white noise before and after the short sound but again it doesn't allow me to import the sound on the timeline. The sound has exactly the same propriety then the other sounds. I do not understand...
It's very frustrating.
Does somebody experience the same issue?
I work with Resolve 14.

I am having a similar problem. I am trying to load wav audio files into a timeline - they appear - even showing the wave form and even the mixer levels (same in Fairlight) are active but I cannot hear sound . . In the media window in the media bin I can play and hear it ok. Its just when I place the audio clip in the timeline do I lose sound.... I am using 15 Beta 3 Studio but had a similar issue on 14 as well at times. Love an answer as its a hassle I cannot afford time on.
