Laptop shutdown during render Beta 3

PostSat May 26, 2018 4:13 pm

Unbeknownst to me my laptop was not getting power from the charger whilst Resolve was rendering a Video. When the battery ran down the laptop shut down
I plugged the laptop in tried to start Resolve over and over but it kept getting stuck searching for Surfaces. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled. It starts up now but there is no sound. It recognizes the media and displays the waveforms but no sound comes out of my headphones and the meters in Resolve do not move. Any ideas? or how do I do a really complete wipe out and re-install?

ps Just rendered out a small mp4, no grading, no editing. Sound was rendered out ALONG with an 8,000hz whine.

"Hi,

It's a Hp Notebook with a nvidia card, nothing special. But I guess the question is if a computer shuts down unexpectedly what files or parts of... are still on the hard drive that screw up a reinstall? I just can't believe I am the first person who has an unexpected shut down. There has to be a "Clean Sweep" procedure used in the program development, right? Resolve was working fine just before this.

Hi,
Did you checked the option "Use System Audio Output" if not
Go to :
Preferences ----> Video I/O and GPU ---->Use System Audio Output"

This fixed my "Sound Problem" I have no idea how this got changed I certainly never touched it...
