Problem with DaVinci 15b4

PostThu May 31, 2018 9:43 pm

I installed both DaVinci Resolve14 and 15 beta4. Both installed without error, but after several splash pages, 14 last said “Loading Color Page” and exited without any error or crash report. DaVinci 15b4 exited without error after saying “Looking for Control Surface”. :?: :?: :?: My machine specs are attached.

Your help appreciated.

I suggest having a look at the minimum specs for Resolve - your machine is well short of it.
Also, if you have both 14 and 15 installed you can run into problems.

Yeah, your GPU isn't even close to what Resolve needs. Also, double check that you have CUDA installed, although with an AMD GPU I'm not sure it makes any difference.

Unfortunately the answer is either stick with something that will run on that machine like Premiere, or consider upgrading to a newer iMac or ideally iMac Pro.

You don't need CUDA in an AMD GPU scenario.

Unless you went out of your way, you can't install both versions at once. Installing a second version will overwrite the first.

Resolve will not run with the GPU your system has. And no, there is no way to upgrade it.

Your CPU is sufficient but your GPU doesn't have enough VRAM.
