Important Issues that need to be Resolved ASAP

PostMon Jun 04, 2018 6:11 pm

BMD needs to help us courageous beta testers and fix the following essential things for BETA 5 before we have a nervous break down:

1) Bypass Fusion FX button next to Bypass All Grades button. This is to assist our workflow speed. Even when Fusion FX clips are cached in the timeline, they will not play smoothly for some reason during playback... Which brings me to:

2) Cached Fusion FX clips should play smoothly in the timeline. It is ridiculous. I have huge uncompressed DPX sequences that play smoothly but those Fusion cached clips for some reason will not play smoothly. This needs to be addressed ASAP. I have beta-tested Resolve 15 in 3 TV commercials during the last month and i am struggling with those simple things. I end up disabling video altogether to be able to finish a sound mix.

3) FairlightFX are not accessible in the Fair-light page but they are accessible in the Edit page??? WTF!

and a request:

4) Is it possible to have a Stereo Panner slider added to the Audio Clips's Inspector Settings?? Clip Volume, Clip Pitch and Clip EQ are important but a Stereo Panner is also important. There are cases in which it would simplify a mix and there would be no need to adjust the Channel's Panning automation?

Thanks guys!

One more important problem with Fusion Cached clips:

Resolve doesn't understand when a clip on the timeline is updated from another application (3D Re-renders for example). So, if those clips are used in the Fusion page and then cached, they are locked in that stage forever or until there is a change in the Fusion Comp.

Even when turning Fusion Cache Off and then On, Resolve uses the same initial cached sequence and is not reset.

That's a long-standing issue with Resolve, no? There's no easy way to reread a sequence, is there?

The only solution at the moment is to manually select the clip that is locked in a previous version, go to the Top Menu>Playback>Delete Render Cache>Selected Clips.

New crazy bug that i just noticed but was enough to ruin the day:

Background nodes with custom resolutions in the Fusion page are reset to Resolve's Timeline resolution after restarting Resolve!

Had to move the FX work back to Fusion Studio for that one. :|

If you need to migrate composites between Fusion Standalone and Resolve's Fusion page more frequently you might find the new Reactor atom package "Fusion Comp Link" in the "Scripts/Comp" category handy.

This tool is still being refined to improve the ease of use but it already makes it really quick and effortless to instantly shift nodes between Fusion Studio 9 and Resolve Studio 15.

Hi Miltos.

Maybe there is simply too much new Fusion and Resolve content being added by the community to Reactor these days to keep track of it all. :D

Cheers,
Andrew
