When fusion titles are added, render time keep increasing

PostThu Jun 07, 2018 7:28 am

Whenever I add a fusion title in my video and try to render the video. The render time just keeps increasing and the video never gets rendered. For a 4 min HD video (with just 5 fusion titles) it's saying more than 4 hours and still increasing.

Can someone please tell what's causing this issue?
Although, if I remove fusion titles then it's just a matter of few minutes to render this video.

I am using Davinci Resolve 15B4
Windows 10 (Version 1809) | Intel i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz | 12 GB RAM |
ASUS GTX-1050 Ti | Hard Drive 1 TB |

How much RAM do you have?

12GB is not much... try rendering each title clip separately and then add back into the rest of the timeline.

Ok, I'll try that in the next video. But can you tell that how much RAM would be enough to not face this issue?

I don’t know that it’s solved by RAM but for Fusion, 64GB is reasonable and I have seen a lot more.
For GPU vram, 8GB is becoming more affordable and the 16-24GB is still a little pricey.

Just curious, what is the RAM actually used for while rendering and why isn't it released when needed? Having a few HD resolution 32bit float images in memory consumes at most a few hundred MB-s. I'm having a hard time imagining where the RAM is so wildly consumed when adding a title overlay except filling it with cache and not releasing.

Save project, close Resolve, reopen, render. Does that work?

Peter,
Although you're right that hardware is getting cheaper all the time. I have done pretty intense filmrez projects in Fusion on a 4-core processor with 8GB over 8 years ago. Titles shouldn't pose a problem even with 'little' RAM.

Well, for me 16 GB worked fine in Fusion 9 with medium-complex projects.
Resolve 15 became considerably more stable in the Fusion tab when I added another 16.

Seems like I'm not the only one... I posted also a topic viewtopic.php?f=32&t=74945&e=0 , the annoying thing is - even after I removed all fusion elements, the video doesn't render at all - still....

Why did it work yesterday???

I'll try to add fusion titles once again and let it render. Then I'll provide the update as to what's the issue.
