Deliver output file name

PostSat Jun 16, 2018 4:18 pm

Creating a short output file with a logo and title text with FUSION / Deltakeyer so that further processes can take place
DELIVER does not allow naming an output file either mov or mp4, defaults to UNTITLED.MOV or .MP4 which means searching file system and renaming file. In addition, RESOLVE does not let go renamed file if the file needs to be recreated using DELIVER.

Does on my system, never had a problem with this. If you don't know how to use the Deliver page, check the manual. If this is a bug on your system, provide specs and a video

I have no idea what you are on about, please explain further.

Whatever the output format, we can give it the name we want:

It's the third tab, named "File".
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Thanks for the replies. Let me describe in detail my problem
Deliver Page after editing in the Edit Page
I select clips between in and out. I set render in/out range. I select Custom tab. I select render single clip as I want a single output file. I select VIDEO then ensure Export Video is selected, format mp4, codec H264, res 1920*1080 HD, frame rate 50 and accept the rest. However, I want to set a name for the output file and there is no facility to do this in the deliver page. If I then select Add to Render Queue and select Start Render, an output file is created in the location in this case same as clips location, then the output file is saved as UNTITLED.MP4 If I am doing this all wrong then please tell me where the output file name is set before creation by rendering.

James,

You go to the Delivery tab to prepare the exports.

You select one or more clips or the whole timeline (here a clip)
You select the destination directory
You click on "File" versus Video / audio
In custome Name you enter the name of the clip you want
You click Add to Render Queue: it's finished.

Strong words for someone who clearly hasn't bothered to check the manual (not to mention completely ignored what people have said in reply to you already). You'll get the answer far quicker than asking people on the forums

Thank you everyone for your help. I did as suggested. One question though, the output file is in .MOV format and not MP4 which is what I want. I hope that telling me that the forum is not for seeking help doesn't put people off. Reading the v15 manual was not very helpful. Where did the manual reference on file naming come from?

Hey,

Do not exaggerate: OK!
It's the minimum.

Ok we gave a hand but it will have to do a little reading because obviously there is provocation!

As it says on the front page, the v15 manual is, at the moment, restricted to new features so that they are fully promoted to everyone's attention. Old features, such as the fundamental functioning of the Deliver page, are in the older manuals, such as the v14 manual on the support page. Perhaps BMD should supply both with the Beta in future.

I agree.

People who now want to take a look at Resolve (hint: people who perhaps want to move from Premiere or Final Cut ;) ) for the first time only have access to the new features, two options (just in the beta) one for Release 14 and a New Features would be helpful.
