15.b5 audio sync q

PostSat Jun 30, 2018 8:02 pm

i have a graded film, sync matches the ref Qt

got final mix, and it slips out of sync progressivly

i am going to master in another software, but i wanted to get a screener out from Resolve for producers today, still waiting for a few final VFX before making a CTM - so not really wanting to make a master that i know will need changes + take the time to do so

is there a way of telling Resolve to run the mix .02 faster?

i do not see this in the audio clip's atribuites

not excatly solved, but a fast workaround,
rendered the film to DNxHR444/Qt @ 23.98Fps
imported the temp render
assigned 24Fps to the temp render
dropped it on top of the mix
rendered a screener in sync @ 23.98
sent a note to the mix house,
are not going to Qc for another week or so there's time for someone to sort it
still impressed that i can run out a 90min show DNxHR @ 2k in 21 min

Thnx to Juan Salvo on LGG who knew the mystery handshake, the timebase of audio is only adjsutable on the edit page by right clicking and selecting speed change

silly me thinking it would be in attrbuites where the image timebase is

but

after i got a screener out i went back and tried the speed change in the timeline...

1) started with Resolve saying it was 23.98, and it was too long
2) i changed the speed to 24 true, and it was then too short
3) so i changed it back to 23.98, and it then lined up correctly

wtf is going on with the audio trainwreck in Resolve? been a few years now and it's still deeply, truly messed up

should mention that this is the first time in maybe a year that i even went near the audio in Resolve for anything real, and it's a big fail at something very simple

I'll keep mastering in software that can be trusted for now, wake me up when the nightmare is over and we have v12.5's audio back
