15 back to 14?

PostTue Jul 03, 2018 6:01 am

Hi,
I did a project in 14.3 last year and upgraded the database to 15 later on this year. My client is still using 14.3 and there's now way he can upgrade to 15.
What is the easiest way to deliver the graded project to him?
Thank you

Export the project (.drp) which he imports and also give him original footage of course...

*Legacy MacPro 8core Xeons, 32 Go ram, 2 x gtx 980 ti, 3SSDs including RAID
*Resolve Studio everywhere, Fusion Studio too

V15 projects are not designed to run in v14.
I would be surprised if that works all correctly.

The only way I can think of is a Premiere or FCP 7 export, he should be able to import that.
BUT: all current effects and grading will be baked in. Might still be OK for minor corrections or re-editing and could possibly save your behind.

But don't say you haven't been warned, both when you installed 15 and when you opened the old database!
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
