I'm on W10 and I cannot figure out how it works...

Anybody can enlighten me?

Try selecting the replacement clip *before* depressing ctrl. Sometimes the replacement clip won't budge, if ctrl precedes selection. Once it starts to work, order of operations doesn't appear to matter. And it only appears to work for stacked clips, with the replacement clip directly above the clip to be replaced. If the clip is elsewhere in the timeline, it has to be moved first.

Yes f11 works but is not the function I was looking at.

Tonight it works... Don't know what I was doing different last night, it seems intermittent (both in 15b6/W10)

it does not seems to matter the order:
select - cntrl - drag
or
cntrl - select - drag

they both work...

It's buggy -- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Keep trying, and change order of operations (ctrl) and eventually it gets going.

I think before pressing CTRL: click on an empty spot on the TL to deselect all the clips.
