Audio volume keyframing causing distortion

PostSun Jul 08, 2018 3:03 pm

I'm having problems with keyframing volume changes in both 14.3 and 15. In a multicam timeline, I have added some audio clips (wav). If I make keyframes, then set the volume at the keyframe to -100 to silence it, all heck breaks loose. All other keyframes in all the tracks stop working, and the audio is very overdriven.

If I only reduce the volume to about -60, the problem clears up. If I then reduce it again to -100, the hideous noise reappears.

The problem first appeared on a project in Resolve 14.3. I thought upgrading might help, but the same exact problem occurs in 15b6.

The problem files are 48khz, 16-bit wave. The other files in the timeline are 8bit mp4 from a Panasonic HC-X1, a Sony a6500 and 10-bit mp4 from a Panasonic GH4. The thing is , I can reproduce the problem with just one audio track in a new timeline.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it something else?
