[Beta 6] Project Can't Stabilize Clips

PostSun Jul 08, 2018 1:43 am

Hey guys. Recently I've run into an issue with a specific project I've been working on for the past few days, where I can not stabilize any clips in the project without DR crashing. Every time I click Stabilize in the color portion of DR, the pop-up window starts at 0%, holds there, and then crashes shortly after. The good thing is that this isn't a global problem, as I tested the same footage in a different project with no problems stabilizing it. But I can't really abandon the current project and start over (it's a promo video for an organization), so, any fixes? I know that in Premiere, there was a way to export a project, open the export, and clean it up to fix certain issues, so is there something like that in DR? I'm pretty new to this software, so I apologize if I'm completely missing something that is an obvious fix. (System Info and crash logs are here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10Qvll ... V4EUN70SuV )

rydogdav,

Out of curiosity - do you hit a similar problem when you switch to the Classic Stabilizer?

I do not have the same issue with the Classic Stabilizer, as that runs without a hitch. However, I would prefer to use the new Stabilizer (personal preference), but I'll get by with the Classic if this issue doesn't get resolved.

Oh, OK. So as I said earlier, I'm probably missing something, and I was. I didn't see the triple dots at the top right of the tracker window, and when I turn off GPU acceleration, everything magically works with the New Stabilizer. However, it would still be nice if I could use my 1050Ti to stabilize footage... Just sayin' :)

How much VRAM has that GPU and what resolution is the footage you'd like to stabilize?

I saw this problem occurring with raw files from Canon c200 and mp4 but not with ProRes and DNxHD.

The VRAM is 4GB, I believe. And the resolution is 1080p.

I'd try to transcode the footage to DNxHD and see if it works then.

Just to know, did you tick the interlaced fields option in you project settings ?
I personally know that I cannot stabilize either with the new stab + gpu selected : immediate quit. As I know I had the same problem (diagnosed by BMD as a interlaced option issue) in the Fusion page, it may be related.
It was on 15b5, didn't have time to try in 15b6 so far

If by interlaced fields you mean video field processing, I already tried turning that off and it did not help. (If you do mean interlaced fields, I have no idea where it is  )
