"Media Offline"

Hey there!

Im new to Davinci and video filming in gerneral. When i want to Playback a 4K file in Davinci, the Playback Screen showes a big red "Offline Media" sign. But i can still play the Video and hear the Audio, but the Video doesn't show up. 1080p Videos do work. Any Solutions?

Davinci Resolve 12.5
Windows 8 64bit
i5-4210M
Nvidia 840M
8 GB Ram

Your files may be the type that is not supported in DaVinci Resolve or only supposed in the newer Studio version.

Can you tell us more about the file type and in the media page, when you select the file in the media storage can you see it in the viewer?

It is:
- a .MP4 file
- shot in the resolution 3840x2160
- 60 FPS
- Codec: H.264
is there any more i can add?

I can watch the file outside Davinci via VLC Player.

I use the free 12.5 version, 14 and 15 didn't work on my Laptop, they crashed after i opened a project.

8GB of system memory is not a lot, and the GPU is going to struggle too with UHD 60fps material, and u r on Windows 8 which is not officially supported.Can you upgrade to W10, add more ram and see if you can install v14.3?
