Can’t update Resolve Studio 14 to 15

I’m the owner of Davinci Resolve Studio, the dongle version for Windows. And it works well in version 14, but won’t update til version 15. (15.0b5)
The update installation starts, but stops with the message: „The older version of DaVinci Resolve cannot be removed.“

Use the Windows Control Panel - Programs and Features panel, and uninstall Resolve 14.

After the uninstall process completes, in File Explorer, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design

Is the DaVinci Resolve folder still there? It should be gone.

If it's still there, see if you can remove it from File Explorer.

If it says the folder is locked, and you can't access it, do a Windows restart.

When Windows comes back up, see if the C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve folder is now gone.

If it is, Resolve 15 should now install.

When I try to uninstall Resolve 14 Studio, I get the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network reource that is unavailable."

And when I browse to the folder containing "ResolveInstaller.msi", I get the message, that "it is not a valid installation package for the produkt".

How to remove Resolve 14 without uninstalling it?

In Windows File Explorer, delete the C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve folder.

Then open regedit, and and go to:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

In the right hand window, double click Version, and in the Edit String window that opens, delete the existing Value Data, and click OK. Then exit regedit.

Now run the Resolve installer, and it should install Resolve.

I don't know what that message means. It's not a normal installer error message.

Are you doing anything with network connected drives? Or all of this is on the C: drive?

What specific version of 15 are you trying to install? Perhaps the installer download is corrupted. Might be worth trying a different version, just to see.

Which exact version of W10 are you using?
