Option+Clicking in the timeline deselects all Auto Select?

PostWed Aug 22, 2018 12:10 am

I'm assuming this is a bug.

I was wondering why periodically all of my track Auto Select buttons kept turning off and I discovered that if I Option Click a blank spot in the Timeline, it turns them all off. I hope this isn't a feature because this has happened many times, not on purpose as I'm Option Clicking Linked clips to select only the Video, or an audio channel.

Also does anyone else notice that there seems to be a slight lag every time you select a clip, or deselect a clip?

It *is* a feature, tied in at least in part with track selection for paste operations. Sounds like you have really bad aim.

Nope. Not bad aim. Just feels like working in molasses with the way the interaction is in the timeline.

That's not working correctly. When you option-click a blank area of the track, it toggles turning off all auto selectors except for that track, and then turning off the current track and turning on all the others.

Can't account for the poor timeline responsiveness, mine is instantaneous for those kinds of operations.

It's a hexcore PC on (don't tell anyone) Win 7. Something has got to be off with your setup, you've got plenty of power.

Right that's what I would think.

Not sure what it is. But all Beta versions of Resolve 15 were the exact same way. Sludgy feeling with the timeline interaction big time.

Yeah it is. I just turned it off to see and it didn't make any difference.

I switched my GPU processing mode from Auto to Metal and things seem to be a bit smoother and interactive. Will see if it feels significantly different than yesterday.

Something is definitely off. My system is not powerful by any means and does not do that.

Excuse me but having a TitanX, what are the reasons why you don't simply choose CUDA ?

I'm not sure why but Metal is significantly smoother in terms of interaction with the UI, selecting clips and moving things around. Cuda seems to have that slight delay, on this system at least.
