Resolve 15 + easyDCP

PostMon Aug 27, 2018 8:56 am

New to the forum! Need urgent help.

Brought the latest easyDCP Resolve plugin to use with Resolve 15.

But it hasn't been able to read the encrypted DCP the machine create (which isn't the major part of the problem), and because of this, I haven't been able to create a KDM for other players to play.

Please help!!!

I think you need the stand alone version of KDM generator to be able to generate certificates for other players.

To do this in the standalone version, you'll need the .dcpdig file created by DaVinci. On a Mac it's at application support davinci/easydcp (etc) folder. Or you could just do a search for the file type.

To make sure you have decryption capabilities enabled on Resolve you can go to File - easyDCP - About easyDCP... Decryption: Licensed

I just saw someone with sort of this same problem.

Everything is licensed. And as the other user points out, firstly, you're supposed to be able to play the encrypted DCP created on the same computer.

Secondly, as shown in a previous tutorial, you should be able to create KDM by right clicking and select create KDM (or something to that effect).

I'm being passed from easyDCP to Blackmagic. And no the other thread, they seems to be passing us back onto easyDCP.

Did you try importing the DCP Digest file (.dcpdig) to resolve? You do this by going to file menu>easyDCP>Import KDM/Digest and importing the digest file created by Resolve when creating the encrypted DCP. Perhaps it imports automatically when you create it using Resolve but haven't really tested because I use the standalone version for all Encryption related work.

I think (I might be wrong) that Resolve can encrypt but can't generate the KDMs. That you have to use the standalone version for the KDMs

Thanks for trying to help. I think it's the DKDM that definitely needs the standalone version, because initially the technical guy told me I need the standalone version too.

There is finally slight process, after going between the forum and easyDCP.

There should be a problem with their plugin, and easyDCP have transmitted a new one for Resolve's next update.

Meanwhile, I've read someone else downgrading back to 14.3, so this is what I've done, and has been a success with the creation of encrypted DCP and KDM so far.

I just downgraded to 14.3 and that worked for me as well. Temporarily, this is a good solution.
