Curve editor ease in-out

PostSat Sep 01, 2018 12:35 pm

I'm in the curve editor. I animated a translation in X for my footage. I'm trying to change the curve from linear to smooth but when I click on the little icon, it doesn't changes anything. I goes back to linear. Any ideas?

Robert

EDIT: I found the problem. If you only have two keyframes, it won't work. You need at least three and only the ones in the middle will work. The first and last one can't be modified. I would call this a bug because there's nothing to justify this behaviour.

And using a one-sided smoothing doesn't work for you? Smoothing both sides at the end is illogical.

Not if I want to do this. And I can't find a way to properly frame the curve in the editor. And it reacts in a very strange way. If the handles are perfectly horizontal, nothing should change but it does. This curve editor is hard to use. They should use the same one as in Fusion.

long discussion about this 2 weeks or so ago. Lots of people annoyed with present behavior.

I found the way to do it in Fusion but I shouldn't have to go through all these steps just for that. Basically you just add a transfer node then you change the curves in the spline editor.

EDIT: Nop! Doesn't work in Fusion either. I zoomed in the image and then I need to translate it. When I do so, it should reveal the rest of the image as I pan but it keeps the cropping! I can't believe I will have to use Nuke or AE to do this. FCP is not better.
