Pan Audio (where is the slider in 15?)

PostTue Sep 04, 2018 10:30 am

Hi,

In the older versions of Resolve there was a pan option under volume. How do I find it in 15? I've got an old project that I was working on from a previous version of resolve (I think last time I touched it was 12.5) and there is a clip that is panned all the way to the left so the right channel has no sound - Any idea where the pan slider is?

I'm guessing somewhere in fairlight.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

No, Pan is now a 2D square at the top of each slider on the Audio Mixer in the Edit page. You should not need to go into Fairlight.

Sorry for my noob-ness - but doesn't that change the whole audio 1 A1 channel? Is that also able to change just the clip's pan attributes?

You can try the automation tools to change the pan from clip to clip.

RTX-3060 12 GB | Resolve Studio 18.6.6| Fusion Studio 18.6.6

Unfortunately that would take a massive amount of time and if you change a clip around then you would have go back to the automation to fix it. Clip pan is what is needed.

Unfortunately, the Clip Pan setting is gone and sorely missed.

However, you can open Clip Attributes / Audio and simply mute channel 2, or try a vst plugin like Stereo Helper.

Thanks so much for mentioning this VST. Unfortunately though it doesn't seem like you can automate it?

I believe Volume and Pitch are the only clip effects that can be automated.

You could try splitting the clip in two, use different settings and add a cross fade.

Ya, that would be a workaround I suppose but my timeline would easily double. A very big headache. Thanks for the reply.
