Client monitor recommendations

PostThu Sep 06, 2018 4:11 am

I just finished building Edit 8.

The eighth room in my career that I have built from the ground up.

A Flanders DM240 handles the proper grading from DR 15 from a Decklink 4K Pro.

The Decklink feeds a SDI to HDMI converter to go to a 4K domestic screen no larger that 55" LED or OLED.

Looking for suggestions for the 55" screen.....

Thanks

A calibrated LG C8 looks great to me. You can store an external 33x33x33 LUT in this particular model. We've been very happy with the C8's for the last 5-6 months.

I believe that it’s still the case that the installation of 3D LUT into the LG C8 series is exclusively supported by SpectraCal CalMAN applications. Currently, LiveSpace and DisplayCAL are out of the support.
It’s up to LG to open the door for other developers to support the direct 3D LUT installation, as I have been told by their respective developers.
So, a LUT box is necessary to calibrate and profile the LG C8 series with other applications than SpectralCal.

Thanks, Willian and Marc. I was looking at the 65” LG C8 and C9 on Monday at our local electronics store. Both looked very good.

Samsung Qled or LG OLED, depending on how your customers want to use it. For most of our customers the Qled is the better choice because they often want to display their commercials in a well-lit enviroment.

Panasonic EZ1002B:

although it's bit expensive. Calibrates well and I think you can store LUTs internally.
There is new model as well:

Thank you for all the suggestions. I'll post a pic or two when the monitor is installed.
