Resolve crashes

PostMon Sep 10, 2018 8:33 am

Hello

First I had issues with database that was crashing each time when I want to go to any project.

Now when I changed to new database with previously saving old one, is crashing when I put media on the edit line and when I click color page it crashes.

Also, old database cant be imported anymore, this is the error - "Failed to restore database because the directory does not allow read and/or write access. Please change the permissions or choose a different directory."

Resolve 14.2.0.012

MacOS Mojave 10.14
Macbook pro Retina 13 - inch early 2015
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
8gb 1867 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536mb
128gb ssd

Here is the log file - https://ufile.io/cve3p

I cannot export any project, because whenever I put clip on to edit line it crashes, or it holds there and then when I go to color it crash immediatly (best option)

It looks like the serious crashing started right after you updated macOS from 10.13.3 to 10.13.6. And then updating to 10.14 didn't make it any better. Did you make any other changes to the system at that time? Because I wouldn't expect Resolve to care about that change, so wondering if anything else might have changed at the same time?

Your Intel Iris GPU is very under-powered for Resolve. And you have less than the 2GB minimum recommended VRAM. So that's not helping. With the 1.5GB of VRAM you have, it's not going to do anything above HD level work.

Is there some reason you went from Resolve 14.3 back to 14.2?

It could be worth trying the current 15.1.1 Resolve version, but if you do, make sure to back up your database first, so you can get back to 14 if you need to.

Hey Dwaine, I just see this message now

Havent changed anything but that, and that is automatic update of OS

Yes, I worry that is due to my low GPU, but whats confusing is that it was working fine for 3 years.
I am not user with big needs so this performance is quite enough for me.

not any big reason, I was just switching between versions to see if there is some issue there.
All databases backed up, I will try with updating to 15.1.1 and let you know.

Thanks
