DaVinci Resolve 15 and Win 7

PostTue Sep 11, 2018 8:10 pm

Hello everybody,

knowing that DaVinci Resolve 15 is only supported on Win 8 and Win 10, is there maybe a list of known issues if it is installed on PC-Worksations still running Win 7?

Thanks & kind regards,
Oliver

Not a popular subject with the staff here, but the biggest limitation is encountering a fatal error on startup (search for related posts here) whose cause remains a mystery.

Unofficial list of known issues on successful Win7/v15 installations include:

-- can't export h.264 HD with named quality settings (you must select the bit rate option)
-- can't export anything higher than HD with h.264
-- can't decode AC3 audio

W8 is not officially supported either.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
