ACES 1.1 Using HDR input formats

PostFri Sep 14, 2018 9:55 am

I am testing ACES 1.1 on HDR input formats but all I get is a black screen. Is there some setting that I miss?

Also was the 'Project' option in the input transforms removed from the clip settings?

Using Rec2020 is not necessarily HDR.

Did you try with any of the HLG or PQ settings at the clip level ACES Input Transform?

Note that there no longer is a Project option there, you either have to specify a specific transform or use No Transform.

To do what ? ACES 1.1 can 'encompass' other 'color spaces'? No ?
Just tell where we come from.

Look at the clip you use, if it is a HLG clip use Rec.2020 HLG (1000 Nits), if it is a PQ clip use any of the Rec.2020 ST 2084. Those settings need to be set at the clip level as there no longer is a 'use project level' option. If I use any of these my viewer turns black (both on the UI screen and through the Decklink).

Not sure what you are trying to tell with that image.

What is the clip level ACES Input Transform in your example set to?

Update:

Opening Resolve using OpenCL instead of CUDA made the problem go away.
It seems to be a CUDA related problem on Windows.

I can confirm the problem is fixed in 15.1.1.
