Resolve 15 dual monitor problems

PostMon Sep 17, 2018 1:51 pm

I have started using dual monitors using pc windows10-64 and it has been absolutely frustrating. There comes a time when I cannot exit or select certain menu items. Once a project was rendered I could not re-edit. Just beeps when I tried to select menu items. There were beeps alerting me to click an option that I could not see. Part of the problem is that windows are opened beneath the main window waiting for a response but I cannot get to it. Also why cannot I click on the very bottom right hand corner to reveal my desktop? The only way I cannot switch to see my desktop is by using a second monitor. Something is very wrong. Why isn’t there an x in the upper right corner to exit like every other program out there?

I am using 15.0.1 Studio.

I run twin monitors. I have the Windows Task Bar at the bottom of the screen on auto-hide. Even with Resolve open I can access the task bar on number 2 screen and display whatever I click on on either monitor.
Resolve Studio 20.0 build 49
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (572.16 Studio Driver), Win10 Home, Speed Editor, Faderport 1, Calibrated Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ & Samsung monitors for UI, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.

You can't minimize Resolve to see your full desktop, but you can access the full computer by hitting the "Windows" key, which will reveal the task bar at the bottom. Or deselect workspace>full screen, which should leave the bar displayed.

Without more information, your other reports on the two monitor GUI are impossible to explain. Dual monitor GUI is well established and reliable. Likeliest cause is, alas, user error.

Resolve 15 dual monitor problems

PostTue Oct 02, 2018 12:15 am

Here is what is still happening with Studio 15.1.1(Windows 10-64):

1. I have dual monitors - both are on
2. I open Resolve and the opening screen is spread over both monitors and I cannot move it all to one screen.
3. I turn off the second monitor and Resolve is now entirely on my main monitor.
4. I cannot select any option on the header such as File, View, Timeline, Trim, etc.
5. I can select Media, Color, etc. and if I have a clip it will play and I can scrub through it but I cannot quit Resolve.
6. I have to use the Task Manager to end the program and I am then asked whether to save or not. I end the task and bring up Resolve again and all is ok.

Also when I press the Windows key there is nothing else going on.

What was happening was that I had Full Screen selected, once I deselected it all is well.
