sync problems with protools export? --> for mixing on Nuendo

PostSat Oct 06, 2018 12:27 pm

Hi,

I made a protools export that made no problems. Could be imported well in the sound facility. But: some sequences in the timeline are off sync by 1, 2, 3, or even 4 frames. Does any one else had this issue and maybe a solution?

update: the sound facility works on Nuendo not Protools

Generally speaking Resolve works fine for me, as long as I don't do heavy effects.

Thanks for any hint!

Just this week I experienced the same issue. Did a AAF Pro Tools export and the audio facility called me that the audio sync was off.
I did include a lowres ProRes Proxy, and the ProRes was perfectly in sync.

No idea what caused this difference between the AAF export and the ProRes export, but it's annoying.
Me too, I have yet to upgrade to the latest version, but as I'm in the middle of a big project, upgrading is not possible.

I'll retest this when I have time.

Which version of ProTools?
ProTools Ultimate 2018.x has vastly improved AAF compatibility.
Consider updating to the latest version of Resolve = 15.1.1 (005).

Are the sequences with sync drift running at 48kHz?
Sync drift often occurs with source media running at 44.1kHz.

Première and even Media Composer produced AAFs have issues with sync drift within ProTools, so it’s not an issue necessarily directly related to Resolve.

I am working with source media in 48 KHz. That's also what I received from the sound facility.
They work on Nuendo not Protools.

Finally we ignored the asynchronous video sequences during soundmixing . After reimport of the mixed sound in Resolve, everything was in sync happily...
