Logic of the Compound Node

PostMon Oct 08, 2018 8:23 am

Hi,

I'm just curious to know whether or not the logic of the Compound Node is currently a little flawed.

The idea from what I gather is to be able to group a bunch of nodes into one and decompose as needed to perhaps tweak. I would also believe that the idea would be to make copy pasting easier since sometimes, your look might consist of multiple nodes.

However, if you have a compound node that is made up of only parallel nodes, copy pasting that one compound node to a new shot only links one input to one output and one output to an input down the chain. If you had 3 or 4 parallel nodes to make up a look (and therefore 3 or 4 inputs) , you then have to manually link the remaining unlinked inputs and add outputs one by one.

Shouldn't copy pasting a compound node also be able to link inputs and outputs accordingly?

Thanks,

C.

just have a serial node on the front and include that in the compound, simple.
