Resolve 15 not starting

PostWed Jan 30, 2019 4:14 pm

I have been trying to use resolve for about 6 months. Every time it goes the same way. Install resolve, try to start it, and nothing happens try 3-5 more times, nothing, uninstall. Sometimes there will be a process in task manager, but usually not. Either way I can never even get the logo to pop up when I try to start Resolve. What is going on with this? Why is it not responding?

Attached is my crash archive, going all the way back to July.

My build is, 16GB Ram, i7-7700K, GTX 1070, Windows 10 Home

It sounds like your system is not powerful enough to run Resolve. I'm guessing as you've posted no details.

Oof yeah, I edited my post to include that. I meet all the specs, so I hope that's not the problem, because I spent $1700 on this build so I could edit. Also I will upgrade ram in the future but for now i'm at 16GB

I assume you are installing the "Resolve" and not trying to install "Resolve Studio" Uninstall Studio if you have it installed then install the regular version. If that doesn't work, try creating another Admin account, logging in to that and installing from there. If that works, your windows user account has an issue.

That didn't work. Whenever I install it a command prompt pops up and it says "Deleted 1 rule" over and over for like 1 second and then it's gone.

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here.

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here.

If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.
