Where do I download official LUTs?

PostSun May 12, 2019 4:01 pm

Looking for LUTs to use in Premiere specifically the Film to Extended Video lut, that's what I use on my BMPCC4K to monitor (in camera) but I don't export with it burnt in, would like to load it on the footage in post to start with the same image I exposed with... Can't find it on Blackmagic website

One way is to download the free version of DaVinci Resolve; there's a folder called LUT that contains all the camera LUTs and others (e.g., Resolve's film look LUTs).
Resolve 19 Studio, M2 MacBook Air with 24 gigs of RAM; also Mac Pro 3.0 GHz 8-core, 32 gigs RAM, dual AMD D700 GPU.

Are you sure those LUTs are worth the high price? Looking at demo video on the site, the only visible difference between the expensive "Natural 709" LUT they sell and BMD Extended Video are quite minor and can be accomplished with tiny easily done tweaks to the HUE v HUE, HUE v SAT and HUE v LUM curves plus a little bit of soft highlight, all of which can be done in even the free version of Resolve.

I think it’s worth the £30, 100%. It automatically gives you excellent results. I don’t think their demo video does it justice. It makes the extended video completely unusable after using this.

I’m coming from Canon and was missing the colours. With this that’s not a problem. I’ll be baking it quite a bit I imagine.
