Hyperdeck Mini Playback One Clip

PostWed Jun 05, 2019 4:18 pm

I would like to know if it is possible to have the Hyperdeck Mini play just one clip at a time without an external controller. Currently when we use the Hyperdeck without an ATEM, it rolls from one clip into another. Is there a way to tell it to only play one clip and then stop?

If I recall correctly, when you control it through an ATEM, it will stop after the currently playing clip.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi, where I work we have an ATEM board, but I believe if you press the play button various amounts of times you can control playback. I may be wrong though

I don't think there is any way to play just a single clip using the buttons on the HyperDeck. You can press the play button multiple times, but this only controls the loop settings (so you can loop a single clip or an entire sequence of clips this way).

The only way I know of to play a single clip is via a remote control protocol like the Ethernet protocol. So if you send the following command via the Ethernet protocol, it will play a single clip and stop at the end:
Code: Select all
play: single clip: true
There may be some 3rd party applications that use the Ethernet protocol that support this functionality as well.

@Blackmagic: Will there be a way to solve this problem in an upcoming firmware? Could be a simple shortcut like pressing STOP and then PLAY, or just a menu setting, where the player could be set in a "always play single clip" mode.
