AutoSync audio then extend audio

I posted this in 16 Beta forum but it also applies to 15.

As many other I am getting closer to making Resolve my main editor, but there are road blocks along the way. One in particular is being able to access audio that is auto synced pass the video out point. Ex: During an interview the camera died but the audio kept recording, even though the video cut out I still need to access the audio post the camera dying. However when you auto sync it doesn't allow you to extend the audio out past the video. Even if you unlink the video from the audio you still can't extend. Anyone have a work around for this besides doing a manual audio sync?

Nobody? How is this not possible? What happens if the video is longer than the audio clip?

I keep the audio separate and sync manually.

Despite the cleverness of AutoSync, grabbing original audio file, meta data are the chink in Resolve armour that stops professionals from using it full time for editing. PieroLass is the “master” of working in Resolve with syncing audio, and he stills need to do an obscure round trip with the audio.

Is there a function for this in the latest version as of now? I really need this as well...
