DaVinci could not find any CUDA capable GPUs

I've searched the topics and found some informations I need to solve my issue. But as I am really new to DaVinci and my computing skills are quite basic level, I thought I'd write here with the exact things that are happening to me.

I've recently bought a Macbook Pro 15" and these are its specifications:

I've downloaded first DaVinci Resolve 15 Beta and the following message appeared to me after I launched the program:

"DaVinci Resolve could not find any CUDA capable GPUs. Would you like to review and update your DaVinci Resolve Hardware configuration?
Please ensure that appropriate GPU and CUDA drivers are installed and your DaVinci Resolve Hardware is configures appropriately."

I then press Update Configuration and change GPU to OpenCL as recommended and then I save configs. I reopen the program and everything happens again, over and over. I have tried with DaVinci 14 and the same problem persists. I've read forums, I've downloaded the latest CUDA driver 396.64 (deleted it afterwards, as my computer did not detect any GPUs), and so on. Really have no idea where to go now. I'm upset because I bought this computer mainly to start grading my projects.

You don't mention the OS you are using. Assuming 10.13.5, you want to use Metal GPU processing.

But what you are saying doesn't make sense. If you manually set the GPU mode to OpenCL, and save the preferences, I don't see any way that it would launch the next time and complain of not finding a CUDA GPU.

If GPU mode is in Auto, it SHOULD be using Metal by default.

You are using the Resolve 15b5 version?

Resolve logs would be helpful. In Finder, go to /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve and run CaptureLogs.

Place the logs zip file on a file sharing site and provide a link here.

Yes it's a OS 10.13.5 and I've downloaded de DaVinci 15b5.

I too don't understand, the thing is, the moment I press Save Changes, changes are apparently saved but then the program ends (or crashes, I don't know). And it keeps asking the same changes every time I open it.

That overrides the other settings!

Get rid of all that stuff in Advanced, and hopefully that makes things happier.

It worked! Thank you so much! But could you please explain to me what that that I erased meant?

It's working now, although this message came up:

"Failed to initialize RED Decoder withthe configured number of decoders"

Should I worry about it too?

You shouldn't put anything in the Advanced area without guidance from product support.

The stuff you had there, which I assume you found from some very old thread on the forum, was to manually select what gpus to use, and to force cuda gpu mode.

All that is now handled and controllable in the Resolve Preferences area. It didn't use to be.

You were forcing CUDA mode to be used, which was the main issue.

The Red Decoder message is not something to worry about. Red Decoder apps are only used if GPU decoding is not available, and it always should be. The error is usually caused by some other application using one of the network ports Resolve wants to use for the decoders. These days, a Signiant client would be a likely suspect. On Mac, Splashtop Remote Access app can also cause this.

I have the same problem, but i don't understand what should i do (write or create) in advanced settings. When i click on the "Advanced" button i cannot see anything, the panel is empty.

Here's something I tried that worked for me.

I'm using Imac and with the latest os, I just downloaded Davinci 17 beta and when the "DaVinci Resolve could not find Metal capable GPUs.
Please review the GPU drivers and GPU configuration under preferences." popped up i chose my GPU manually instead of Auto and it worked (for now).
