Delimiter options for "%Start TC" & "%End TC" variables

PostTue Oct 08, 2019 10:06 pm

I appreciate that R16 now makes the %Start TC/%End TC variables actually useable on macOS, since the timecode separators are now dots, instead of colons like in previous versions.

I would, however, prefer to have more control over these variables, so that I can choose to use dots or dashes as delimiters, or no delimiters at all.

A file named "FILENAME001-02011411.mov" is much more compact than "FILENAME001-02.01.14.11.mov" , which I prefer. However, it would be nice to have the option to use dots or dashes if I want to.

So I propose adding new, more granular timecode variables:

%Start TC HH
%Start TC MM
%Start TC SS
%Start TC FF (frames)

This would allow you to setup a filename template like "FILENAME001-%Start TC HH-%Start TC MM-%Start TC SS-%Start TC FF.mov" to write a file with dashes as the timecode delimiters. This would also allow you to only specify HH-MM-SS without frames, if you so choose.
