New Mac Pro help for 4k camera

Hello,

My office will be moving to 4k production his fall with the arrival of the new 4k production camera. I'm currently up for my biannual computer upgrade and I'm looking for some help on what will be the ideal setup. I know there are rumors about a new Mac Pro but unfortunately I think I need to make my order by the end of the month. I might be able to wait if we get some answers from Apple soon. We will not be going completely 4k right away. I'm sure I'll continue making 1080 videos until I feel ready to go with 4k. Basically I need help figuring out what would be the best setup for me. The current Mac Pro or the new iMac? What is the recommended graphics card for best workflow? Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated. How much memory? Good monitors for 4k video? Processor? External Hard drives?

I'm thinking about BMPC as well.

I've 2010 MP 12Core 2.66 with 24GB RAM, ATI 5870 and NVIDIA G120.

I was making same researches and find out that I need some GTX card - month ago or so EVGA announced 2GB GTX 680. It is quite pricey ($600) but it is flashed so if you need boot screen for windows purposes there it is.
If no, you can take GTX 580 2.5GB - Probably fastest mac card for Resolve these days.
You can also buy refurbished flashed cards for mac at ebay.
I have Nvidia G120 for GUI.
I probably will need more RAM. Now with 2x 3d applications and Photoshop it's almost enough, so I will need to buy more when I will start to shoot 4k.

My CPUs will probably work fine for this kind of workflow.

I have no clue about 4k monitors. I have 30' 2560x1600 Eizo for my own but I'm thinking about 4k because of downscaling it to 1080p I won't bother with that for now.

iMac is nice option cause it have 680mx as a choice in fastest model that will work great for resolve purposes.
But iMac is not option for me, I need swappable disks.

You are one lucky person... If your budget allows it and you can defer the upgrade until October 2013, then go for the Mac Pro Tube with TB 2 and dual AMD FirePro GPUs with up to 6GB video memory. The FirePro uses the latest version of OpenCL rather than CUDA and both Resolve 10 and FCP X 10.1 will be tuned to use that GPU and OpenCL and both will be released on or about the release date of the new Mac Pro, I believe. Even Adobe is now touting the benefits of the AMD FirePro and OpenCL for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Speedgrade!

There are a few good storage options depending upon your budget. LaCie and Promise Thunderbolt RAID systems have products for all budgets.
