Per-bin column layout

PostMon Feb 10, 2020 2:26 pm

Bins can contain items of a very different nature and often don't need to display the same information. Having the column layouts saved per bin, rather than globally, would be very helpful. You could always do something like Option+Click to apply the layout globally. Unless I'm wrong, there is no way to implement this currently.

In the Media Pool, right click the Bin name in the sidebar and select "Open As New Window".
Each Bin window instance may use a different column layout.

Thank you, but I don't find this a very practical solution when you have more than a couple of bins, especially on a single-screen system.

Single screen use case is different, and your request would be useful in that workflow.

I tend to close the "main" Media Pool and have multiple Bin windows open with custom column layouts, with each instance on a second or third display. Often this is easier than trawling through hundreds of Bins in the main Media Pool panel.

I totally agree with you and would have done the same if I were on a 2 or 3 screen setup :)

I like the idea, but I would reverse is slightly. The modifier would be used to engage this feature, with the current methods working globally.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
