Davinci 16 loose connection with Avid Artist Color

Hello team from Blackmagic, I'm just upgraded my R15 estudio to R16, was fine until beta 4, but in the beta 5 every time I minimize window or switch applications the connection with the Avid Artist Color loose and the controls gone, I must restart the R16 to relink the surface control. please fix it, thanks. I'm On High Sierra 10.13.6

there's been a few reports of issues with Artist Color + v16.b5 + OSX

i have two Color/Transport desks, and i'm not seeing any issues with Artist Color + v16.b5 + w10/1903

it's faster to stop/restart EUcon than Resolve, may get you to the same place, a new connection established

if it was w10 issues i would be looking at windoze defender / firewall settings first.... but as mentioned, rock solid on w10 so no need, whatever the mac version of firewall/virus software might be worth checking for an update that wacks EUCon?

I am on Resolve Studio 16.1.2, macOS Catalina.
Every time I am switching to other windows than Davinci, the Artist Color looses its connection, only the rectangles appear on the display. A restart of Davinci reconnects the board.
A restart of EUCON does NOT work in this case.

Any ideas? Bug?

I am experiencing this exact same problem. Losing connection whenever I click anything out of Resolve the connection between the controller and Resolve is lost. Have any of you found a work around?

Hey Eron,

there is a little workaround that suites for while.
You have to downgrade EU Control to V18.3

For me the connection is stable now but the display on my Artist Color is showing no information anymore.

Hey I got a very helpful response back from AVID just now that solved the issue. You need to open Resolve first and establish the connection as normal. Then, while Resolve is running, open the EU Control Preferences and go to the ASSIGN menu and click the "Lock Application to Entire Surface" box. These were greyed out before, and will only be usable if Resolve is already running. I had previously gone into the "System Preferences" on my MAC and opened the EUCON preferences and dragged the Resolve Application into the box ensuring that EUCON had the right path and application assigned to the right Ethernet connections.

I am running EU Control 19.12.1.23 on Mojave with Resolve 16

I am having this issue also with artist color, the workarounds do not work as the box is still greyed out on the 'Assign" solution mentioned by Eron.
do the blackmagic team have a solution for this yet?

I tried different routes, all mentioned above, got everything working at one point:
latest driver, start up Resolve, check the earlier greyed out boxes et cetera.
Two days later: connection is wobbly and no info on display anymore, whatever I try...

I know everything has got to end, but this seems an avoidable issue.
Micro panel high on my to do list...

I'm on Catalina, DR 16, Macbook Pro 32GB ram, fastest i9 processor.

This is still an Issue on a 2019 Mac Pro, DR 17.3.2, Eucon 21.6

Locking the Application once it detects the console fixes this issue!

This console is working fine after 10 years: with an Akai APC40 customised by Tachyon Post it's delivering better than the Mini Panel IMO.
