Hello everyone and thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I did a search for this issue but nothing came up.
The problem I'm having is that when I change the speed of a clip, the last frame of the clip gets changed. Here's a more detailed description of what I'm seeing
I have two consecutive 4k 30 fps clips, each about 8 min 45 sec long, and 15800 frames before any retime has been applied. I place both clips in the timeline one right after another. When I play the output prior to any retime, I get about 17.5 minutes of smooth video. The seam (not sure what to call it) between the first and second clip is not noticeable. However, that changes after I change the clip speed.
My retime procedure is as follows:
The screen shot I've attached shows this final configuration after all the retiming.
The problem I'm seeing is that when I play the timeline there is a noticable jump between clips 1 and 2. Basically, after the retime has been applied the final frame of clip 1 has been changed so much that even at 3000% speed there is a visible jerk or jump.
Is there an option to select or orther workaround that keeps the final frame of the first clip fixed (or close enough to it) so that there is no visible artifact between clips 1 and 2 after the retime has been applied? I have tried changing the speed using both the "Maintain Timing" and "Stretch to Fit" options. Both have yielded the same result.
I'm using Davince Resolve 15.2.3.015 on a Windows 10 machine. I have 32 GB of RAM and a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card.
Thanks again and please let me know if I need to provide any additional info or clarifications.

My retime procedure is as follows:
- The first clip, I speed up to 8000%. Then I use the retime curve to slow down the retime at the end of clip 1 to 3000%. So the clip starts out at 8000% and ends at 3000%. I'm using the smooth curve transition option, not the linear option, if that makes any difference.
- For the second clip I'm speeding it up to 3000% and similarly to the first clip I use the retime curve to slow down the end of the clip to 100%. So it starts at 3000% and ends at 100%. There is an intermediate speed of 1000% if that makes a difference.
- Then I delete all gaps in the timeline so that the end of clip#1 is snapped to the beginning of clip #2.
The screen shot I've attached shows this final configuration after all the retiming.
