Sound drift out of sync in export file, following render.

PostMon Apr 20, 2020 7:45 am

Hi all

I am a bit of an amateur so apologise for any incorrect terminology.

The challenges I have is that normally I do landscape video with some audio. Recently was asked to turn a presentation in to a full video. The file I received turns out to be a video export from PowerPoint and it is 30.3fps.

Everything in resolve 16.2 looks fine and plays fine. Only when I render out the audio drifts out of sync. I'm pretty sure that it's the 0.3fps drift that's causing it. Now I can't get the file on 30fps or any other. I managed to get a .wmv @ 30fps but that's not compatable with resolve and when I reformat this file I get MP4 @30.3fps.

I managed to get a work around by playing the video and doing a screen recording at 25fps and that file exported fine. But the quality drops obviously. Also exported in wmv and format factory to convert back to mp4.

Has anyone else had this issue? Surely there has to be a quicker way I am missing? Using all free apps currently.

Thanks
Danny

Try to conform the speed to 30 fps under "Clip Attributes".

Thanks Uli Plank,

I had tried this but it was the same. The options are limited and I can't have a 30.3 fps in custom. I even tried to drop down to 25 and 24. Same issue. It's a frustratingly small issue with a huge time impact to work around.

Thanks though.

I'm afraid that PowerPont may deliver variable frame rates. Check with MediaInfo.
If so, you'll need to convert it.

I have the same problem. For some reason I ended up with a 23.976 fps recording. Can it be the cause of the out of sync audio?

During editing there wasn't any issue. I can see it only in the rendered file.

How can I fix this without redoing the editing?
