If you can get 16 working with the ISO install, then 17 will work as well, as long as you update the NVIDIA driver to 450.66 or higher.
The NVIDIA driver on the ISO image is too old for Resolve 16.2.7 or 17.
Note that you MUST burn the ISO to a DVD and do the install process from a DVD drive.
No, you CAN"T dd or use some other method to put the ISO image on a USB stick. The installer will fail if you run it from a USB stick.
Also, there must be no onboard graphics on the motherboard, or if there is, it must be disabled, or the ISO install process will fail.
With all these caveats, it's probably better for personal users to use the Seth Goldin install instructions:

He gives you a process for either CentOS 7.8 or 8.2. I'd probably recommend going with 7.8.
