Micro Studio 4K Overheating?

PostThu Jul 16, 2020 3:04 am

Hello, we have a Micro Studio 4K that we have used for the past few years. We have been shooting in 1080p24 without any issues. Today I switched to shooting in 1080p59.94 to match some other sources on our ATEM TVS HD. The camera would shut off by itself in 20-30mins of being on(I assume because it overheated). The camera is connected to AC power. Has anyone seen this issue or have any guidance with fixing the overheating? Thanks!

I would contact BMD support. I have left those running in 2160p29.97 for a LONG time with no issues before.

Hi

I'm late on this, but did you find a solution?

I found this post, searching for myself, because i had kinda the same problem. I used it in 2160p25 and and 1080p25 a lot, when last week 1080p60 caused a problem. after one hour or so of running, the image starts to become black and come back in 20seconds interval and ultimately the output would not work on the camera (but tally light still on). i checked and swaped everything: power suply, sdi cable, hdmi cable... nothing changed. There was no signal going to the screens.

Today i opend up the camera and found that the termal paste was completely dry and i changed it. The camera is running now for 2 hours without any problem, but i am still afraid it was something different and it could come back... so did you find a solution?

Thanks!
