How to do Titles with special characters in Spanish

Need advice -busy with a 20 part travel series on South America - many place names include special characters like ñ, á etc. Working on a Mac normally no problem -just hold the letter for two seconds and the special character choice appears.
Does not work on DVR16. I cannot find a way, as yet, to write the titles correctly - who has a solution?

I generally use the method shown here on both Windows and Mac:

(i.e. Alt + numeric character code for Windows, Option + specific Qwerty key for accents and other special characters)
